How Refills Work
Check the date, bring the bottle, head home with gas.
1. Bring the empty bottle
Bring your empty gas bottle to the counter at 605 Old Gympie Rd. Check the date stamped on the bottle before you leave home.
2. We check the date
We check the date stamped on the bottle. Bottles over 10 years old cannot be filled and need replacing. If the thread is on the inside of the bottle, it needs a bung, which is an extra $2.75.
3. We refill it
We refill the bottle, you pay at the counter and head home with gas for the BBQ. No account needed. Open seven days a week.
Check the Date Before You Come In
Every gas bottle has a date stamped on it. We can't fill a bottle that is over 10 years old, so if yours is older than that you'll need to get a new bottle.
Where is the thread? If it's on the inside of the bottle, it needs a bung, which is $2.75. If the thread is on the outside, no bung is needed because it's self sealing. Not sure how to read the stamp or which you have? Bring the bottle in and we'll check it for you at the counter.
Need BOC Industrial or Welding Gas?
BOC gas is swap and go. Bring in your empty BOC cylinder and we swap it for a full one: oxygen, acetylene, argon, CO2, forklift gas and more.
Gas Refill Questions
Do you refill gas bottles?
Yes. We refill BBQ and household LPG bottles at the Narangba store, seven days a week. We refill them, we do not swap them.
How much does a gas bottle refill cost?
A 2kg bottle is $11.00, a 4kg bottle is $17.00 and a 9kg bottle is $24.50. Prices can change, so call 07 3888 0177 if you want to confirm before you come in.
How much is a 9kg gas bottle refill?
A 9kg gas bottle refill is $24.50 at Miller's Mitre 10 Narangba.
Can any gas bottle be refilled?
Not if it is over 10 years old. We cannot fill a bottle that is more than 10 years old, so you will need to get a new bottle. Bottles within the 10 years can be refilled, and some need a bung (see below).
Does my gas bottle need a bung?
It depends on where the thread is. If the thread is on the inside of the bottle, it needs a bung, which is $2.75. If the thread is on the outside, it does not need one because it is self sealing. Not sure which yours is? Ask at the counter.
Do you swap gas bottles?
Not BBQ bottles. BBQ and household bottles are refilled, not swapped. Our BOC industrial and commercial gas is swap and go. See the BOC swap and go page for those gases.
Do I need an account to get a gas bottle refilled?
No. BBQ gas refills are run by us in store. We check the bottle is in date, refill it and you pay at the counter. A BOC account is only needed for BOC swap and go cylinders, which are a separate service.
When can I get my bottle refilled?
We are open seven days: Mon – Fri 6:00am – 5:30pm, Saturday 6:30am – 5:30pm, Sunday 7:00am – 4:00pm.
